Conscious decluttering – 2 questions that you need to ask
Decluttering your home - or parts of it - is something everyone needs to do from time to time because, no matter what, things tend to accumulate in the corners of your home. Decluttering is almost like meditation for your home. You clear your home of unwanted items - like in meditation, you clear your mind from thoughts. And finally, reach the ultimate goal of harmony, and tranquility.
When you start decluttering a part of your home, you must remember that the process will take some time and ask for your focus. Decluttering can feel challenging, uncertain, chaotic, and heavy. But it can also be an extremely mindful activity that cleanses your inner world as much as the outer world – because your home reflects you.
When you focus on seeing decluttering from this perspective, things shift within you. You realize that you can work on healing YOURSELF at the same time when you declutter your home! So cool!
There are 2 questions you must ask yourself before starting the decluttering process, so you make it more conscious, mindful, and healing. Those questions are:
2 questions that make decluttering more conscious
1. What is going on right now in my life?
Look within yourself in meditation or go for a long walk alone and ask yourself:
– What is your healing intention right now?
You can find the answer to this question by asking yourself:
How are you? What is going on within you? What are you struggling with in your mind or your life right now? What do you need to let go of in your mind to make your life happier?
2. What is the one area in your home that needs decluttering the most?
As within – so without. When you start decluttering your home, you should focus on one thing, one corner or closet first. That means you need an intention also for your decluttering process! And you will find the intention by asking yourself:
What is the one area in your home that stresses you the most? What do you want out of this decluttering? Why are you doing it? When you declutter place X, how does it make your life happier?
Once you have answered these questions and set your intentions, you are ready to go!
Here’s how to start decluttering.
