Inner Safety,  Needs & Inner Child Work,  Unleash your true nature

Understand and nurture your need for inner safety

You know when you feel safe within. It makes you feel strong, rooted, and confident. It makes you breathe freely. Deep inhales and even deeper exhales. Even if the world around you is crumbling, you stand strong as the power within is so enormous. It drives you further. It pushes you to take risks and jump headfirst into the ocean of the unknown, knowing that the water is safe. Then, you get to swim confidently from that feeling of safety and find the new piece of land where you can bloom.

The concept of inner safety is still somewhat foreign. When I ask people if they feel safe within, the answers have been:

Not sure, I guess so? What do you mean? Or simple silence.

Asking that question is almost like asking people if they love themselves. Unfortunately, quite a few are not able to say a word.

My awareness of this topic was raised after lifting the cat on the table: I was done with my panic attacks. I then met my inner child in meditations, who told me what was happening. From that recognition and acknowledgment, I started healing it within me. Because by recognizing, acknowledging, and accepting what is within, we can let go of the suffering and turn the need that vibrates negative energy into a beautiful flower.

MY NEED FOR INNER SAFETY wAS THE ROOT CAUSE FOR MANY OF MY FEARS

Most of us have not learned how to name and locate feelings in our bodies in our childhood. We have not learned to acknowledge, listen and accept our own needs – let alone communicate them. Oh, I wish someone had helped me years back to understand it all – understand that my suffering was all connected to the same seed. That my need for safety within was creating most of my fears that just took different forms, depending on the situation:

  • fear of rejection/abandonment
  • fear of not been seen/heard
  • fear of not being good enough
  • fear of not being wanted
  • fear of losing control

= Deep down I felt like I was not going to survive. I did not feel safe.

The various life transformations I had made triggered it all within me. When I went through all those changes, I felt as if I was left with blank paper and no pen. But actually, that blank paper allowed me to see beyond the old stories I had been telling myself – my suffering, my fears.

THE SEARCH FOR SURVIVAL

The pandemic has shaken and triggered people’s inner safety. But we would not have needed this pandemic to prove it, as it is in our DNA. The search for survival comes from the hunter-gatherer times when it was vital to surviving.

When we sense this danger, our bodies and mind react. It all starts from our brain and causes extensive stress on our bodies. We either fight, flight, freeze, or fawn in these situations:

Fight: we fight.

Flight: we will run away.

Freeze: we cannot do anything.

Fawn: we please or avoid.

MASLOW´s HIERARCHY AND the ROOT CHAKRA

We also know that in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, safety comes second and belongs to the category of basic needs. In the chakra system, safety is related to the root chakra. This chakra is also about your basic needs in life, your tribe, family, and community. It is feminine energy and connects you to Mother Earth, as we are nature. The red root chakra in 3D turns to platinum color in 5D and vibrates with I AM energy.

So it is one of the essential basic needs that we all carry within. And it can get triggered in stressful situations.

ARE YOU READY TO NURTURE YOUR NEED FOR INNER SAFETY?

How is your relationship with your inner safety? Are you connected to it? Do you feel safe within? Do you have any of the fears (or similar) listed above?

I am here for you if you feel you also have some self-healing work on this topic. I am also here to tell you that It can be nurtured and healed. So if you are ready, you can start your journey with this method that I use all the time.

But as within, so around. When you become conscious of your inner safety and nurture it, you see it everywhere, also, in your physical surroundings – your home. You can turn this to your advantage and include elements in your home that support your journey towards nurturing your safety within. Wanna read more? This blog post talks about how you can do this.
