How to bring more balance into your life?
Do you feel like it is tricky to balance your life sometimes? Like you are going from one extreme to another, like a scale or swing that cannot stay in the middle? Sometimes, it is easy to see that you are running, and then you realize it is time for a rest. So you run. You rest. You run. You rest. One extreme. The other extreme. But the middle point is where you should be walking towards - where the beautiful balance locates. And where you ultimately should always return. But sometimes, you are so inside the extreme bubble that you don't even see it. That happened to me.
The other day I was on a ship on my way to Åland (a beautiful island in Finland). I spent most of the time watching the stunning, never-ending ocean and how the waves were gently coming and going. I then started to pay attention to the horizon and how far it was. The more I looked at it, the more I felt a change was happening within my consciousness. I was opening up and finding balance. And then I realized that I had forgotten to watch the horizon because I was always way too busy looking at my feet!
So what about you?
how balanced are you in different aspects of your life?
When you are in balance, things feel at ease and right. It gives you the feeling of stability, as you are in the middle. What a wonderful place that is to be!
So now, let’s do some self-healing.
- What is that one sector (work, money, family, relationships, self, etc.) where you would need the middle point and balance right now?
- Once you know where you need more balance, think about the two extremes of your situation. What are those? Which one are you focusing on more at the moment? For me, it was the horizon and my feet and I was only looking at my feet.
- To have a balance in your life, you must stand in the middle. So what is this middle point for you?
How to bring more balance into YOUR life?
- Visualize the balance: Close your eyes and bring your awareness to that one thing that would need more balance in your life right now. See or feel a SeeSaw (swing) in front of you, where someone sits on the other end of the swing, and you are on one end. But this time, you are alone in it. When you sit down, think about where you are at the moment with your chosen topic. Your side of the swing goes down. The other end goes up. Then see yourself slowly getting up and walking on the top of the wooden board to the middle, where the balance locates. You wobble. But soon, the swing and you start to find balance, achieving the middle point. Then you stop there. Now, feel the balance within.
- Meditate on balance: Set balance as your intention.
- Practice balancing yoga poses: Mountain pose, Tree pose, Chair pose, Eagle pose, Warrior 2, etc.
- Do some energy work or visit a healer to balance your chakras and energy.
Bring balance into your home
Balance is one of the principles of interior design, and it is made by organizing the place to be symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The easiest way to know if the space is balanced is that it feels good!
- Look around your home, allow your intuition to guide you, and pay attention to the furniture this time. What part of your home is not in balance?
- Is the space symmetrical, radial or asymmetrical? Then bring balance into it by changing something and creating it more symmetrical, radial or asymmetrical. I am not saying you need to buy a new sofa, but is the sofa in the right place? How about you move it a bit? I have noticed that even the tiniest change – like pushing one piece of furniture in one direction – changes the room’s balance.
Balance is something you will be searching for your entire life since this planet Earth has polarity everywhere. So always remember, when you are not in balance, try to return to the middle as much as possible. And feel the difference and peace that comes with it.
